Long bio
Father Dust is the music alias of Tyler Moncrieff, a Charlotte, North Carolina entrepreneur, recording artist and music producer, also known as Matchbook Kid (MBK). Active since 2024, he is the creator of HorrorDrill Trap-Rap: cinematic block reporting meets occult Memphis darkness meets underground horror theatre meets Chicago drill production. Manic, murderous and somehow danceable. His reference points run from Three 6 Mafia and Gravediggaz to King Von, BigXthaPlug, $uicideboy$, Flatbush Zombies and Pouya. His music comes from Beatties Ford Road on Charlotte's west side, where the Stand Over Gang (S.O.G.) formed; today he operates from Dilworth. In 2024 he founded D3FFM3FFR3CORDZ, an independent record label and creative lab signing horrorcore, trap and rap artists, with the M3FFMU$iC collective under it. Production is AI-assisted through Suno.ai, and he makes his own cover art. Tracks include “Matchbook Kid,” “Blanket Rats” and “Dust Got AI.” Listen on SoundCloud and YouTube.
